Spirit of Africa

This free program is dedicated to Titus.

Titus is the little boy from Kenya that the team sponsors through world vision in Africa. They have learned about his life, the good and the bad times and they each pay a toonie a month to his fund for clothes, food and education. Titus’s family sends the team pictures and notes and it has been a great learning and loving experience for the girls. They each have a picture of him and every few weeks they get something in the mail from his family.

The music is a rich mix of African rhythms, styles and melodies.  

Different parts of the program tell different parts of Titus' life.  The beginning is hope……..they think of how they are making a difference in his life and have brought hope to him. Then there is the fun he has in his life, it is light and playful.  They know he likes to play tag, and hand clapping games, loves kicking a ball around and loves to dance.  Hope and life against a background of strife and conflict.

With the music being a mix of African types it pulls at the skaters heart strings and helps them better understand what life is like for some in Africa .

This powerful inspiration has motivated the team to produce a stirring, dynamic, passionate program that showcases the depth of edge, the run of the blade, the flow and joy of skating that materializes when a team with a quest for excellence strives to find the opportunity to pursue their dream.
